We are all leaders within our specific surroundings; be it leading ourselves, family or in the work environment. Even if we think we cannot lead, the key principles of leadership can be learned. One such skill I stumbled upon is to think of our position as an opportunity to serve. A servant-leadership approach is collaborative and the opposite of an autocratic style. It is about building others up and creating opportunities for them to excel.
- Think of your exposure to leaders. Where did you have bad leadership and what were the results? Also, where did you have an exceptional leader and how did you respond? Was there a difference?
- If you are in a leadership position, what is your style? How do you serve people rather than dominate them
