Michael Merzenich, a neuroscientist at the University of California, is one of the pioneers of neuroplasticity who scientifically proved that the brain is flexible and malleable; it continuously changes for better or for worse, depending on our thoughts and experiences.

He also stated that the brain is old wine. It gets better with age provided we take good care of it. Older people are better able to integrate new information. They are often also better at problem solving because they have stored more information in their brain.
